This study is based on the previous research by Zuhriyah (2017) which states that Indonesian students still have some problems in speaking skills caused by some factors and one of the factors is the lack of vocabulary. On the other hand teachers expect them to have good speaking skills in order to help students preparing their future career. Another research conducted by Sari (2021) and Wulandari (2020) stated that Indonesian students have problem in real-time speaking even if they have learnt English since junior high school. This research aims to investigate the relationship between vocabulary mastery and speaking skills in an online class (online learning) during the pandemic era and aims to know students rsquo speaking and vocabulary level. The design of this study is quantitative correlational design and clustered sampling is used. The participants were 26 students in X AK 2 SMKN 01 Gedangan. Instruments in this research were speaking test and 30 questions of vocabulary test. The data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation in SPSS 16. Another finding revealed that students rsquo speaking and vocabulary level were in good level. It can be concluded that the students rsquo vocabulary mastery and speaking skills is correlated significantly.
