Abstract

The present of this research is to investigate the impact of the existence of Machine Translation (MT) on the future of the language workers like translators and interpreters. To achieve the objective of this research the researcher collected the data through a platform called Quora which can be accessed at www.quora.com. It is a question-and-answer-based website where questions are asked answered followed and edited by internet users. Therefore it allows the researcher to gather data from only the parties intended mainly translators and interpreters. Besides those two main categories some participants also worked in language-related fields. The data are collected in the form of opinions of the participants. This study will use the qualitative research method to analyze the data. After collecting the data and concluding them the result shows that even though machines can take over some of the humans occupations this does not mean that it is the end line of humans careers. There will be times when the demand for the jobs will be increased at a particular time because most of their work has been partly automated and consumers who are looking for services done by humans will continue to grow.
