Abstract

The perception of the beauty concepts is constantly changing along with the development of popular culture and trends in the media. The promotion of media that present the concept of beauty from the Japanese and the Korean has put women under pressure to meet such a standard. In contrast the beauty concept of YOU C1000 advertisements presents a new concept. The model representation of YOU C1000 advertisement 2019 Zozibini Tunzi presents beauty that contrasts with Indonesian beauty concept. Through the advertisements YOU C1000 aims to present a new ideology of beauty that comes from within. This research applied Critical Discourse Analysis theory that has three dimensions description interpretation and explanation. Through the CDA the researcher found that the use of pronouns the choice of conjunctions and positive words can elicit emotional responses to persuade people Zozibini Tunzi is the main representation of beauty that comes from within and the confidence and happiness can lead to beauty. Moreover the advertisements distribution through YouTube and TVC are effective ways to spread the new beauty concept.
