Abstract

The present study focuses on gender differences determined by the use of verbal aggression by PUBGM (PlayerUnknown rsquo s Battle Ground Mobile) streamers on Twitch. As such a game raises competitiveness among players and viewers of the game streamers many situations during the game lead to the production of verbal aggression. The verbal data are taken from two streaming channels by Cluoty and Xuleex. From a qualitative approach the data shows that gender influences the production of verbal aggression. It is found that the male streamer Cluoty produces four types of verbal aggression out of 10 which is classified by Infante (1989). Meanwhile the female streamer Xuleex produces 3 out of those types. At some point the male streamer is found to be engaged in an uptight situation more often than the female streamer.
