This research examined the effectiveness of Twitter to enhance the students rsquo vocabulary achievement. The limitation that most previous studies use media Twitter to enhance students rsquo English skills and competence in general becomes a gap in conducting the present study which uses Twitter to enhance students rsquo specific vocabulary skills. This research employed a quasi-experimental design. The main instruments used in the research were tests consisting of the pre-test and the post-test. For the treatment 100 narrative vocabularies were prepared as the target vocabulary. Moreover to strengthen the final result an interview guide for the students in the experimental class was also prepared. The data collected from the pre and post-test were analyzed and presented in the form of statistical data and descriptive data from the interview guide. From the data analysis three findings were discovered by the researcher. The two findings were related to the statistical data from pre-and post-test. First it was found out that vocabulary achievement data for pre-test and post-test for the experimental group was normally distributed thus the data were analyzed using paired sample T-test and independent sample T-test. Second there was a significant difference between the post-test result of the experimental and control groups. The third finding related to the interview data and it was discovered that almost all of the students said that Twitter is helpful for them and some students also said that learning through Twitter is interesting. Both groups increased their vocabulary achievement however the experimental group achieved higher than the control group. The students in the control group were categorized as students with ldquo good rdquo achievement while the experimental group was categorized as students with ldquo very good rdquo achievement. The students from the experimental group agreed that Twitter helped them even though they faced some problems such as time connection and system. It is suggested that schools nowadays keep supporting students with programs related to online learning for example giving free internet credit or regular consultation related to students rsquo difficulties and problems in online learning The teachers who teach in online classes need to pay more attention to the students and have well-prepared planning when they want to apply online media like Twitter. Lastly for future researchers it is recommended that they conduct research using various online media such as Twitter Facebook Instagram Etc. in order to make a more interesting and effective learning process.
