ABSTRAK Febriyani Suci Amanda. 2017. The Effect of Guided Inquiry Combined Think Pair Share (TPS) on Process Skills and Cognitive Achievement Students in XI Grade Students of SMAN 1 Kepanjen. Keywords guided inquiry TPS process skills cognitive learning outcomes The problem in biology learning in SMAN 1 Kepanjen is that teachers do not provide opportunities for students to apply scientific approach appropriately because there is no phenomenon of problems that must be observed by students and students less focus on the problems to be investigated. The impact students tend to only memorize and can not relate to everyday life so it has not empowered the process skills. Teachers still have difficulty applying process skills in teaching and learning activities especially on Respiratory System and Excretion System. The impact is less students interpret the purpose in the practice because they have not developed process skills. This leads to less meaningful learning so that learning outcomes are low. Known from the results of the daily test score of students as many as 28 of 34 students (83%) incomplete in learning Biology. This study aims to determine the effect of guided inquiry model combined with TPS with guided inquiry model to the process skills and cognitive learning outcomes of grade XI students of SMAN 1 Kepanjen. Process skills are measured by observation sheets and students cognitive learning outcomes are measured by pre-test and post-test questions. This research is a kind of quasi experimental research with Pre-test Post-test Design Group Design. Sample determination is determined by purpose sampling. The learning model applied in the first class is guided inquiry model combined with TPS with the number of 32 students. The learning model applied in the second class is guided inquiry model with 32 students. Analysis of process skill data using t test analysis and data analysis of cognitive learning result using covariance analysis previously done normality test and homogeneity of data. Implementation of learning is measured using an observation sheet of the implementation of learning by teachers and students.
