This study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of mind-mapping strategy in teaching exposition text especially analytical exposition text in Senior High School. The research design used in this study was pre-experimental design. The subjects of the research were 30 students of XI MIPA 1 class in SMAN 4 Malang. The instruments used to collect the data in this study were reading comprehension tests. The findings show that there were five improvements in students rsquo achievement proved by the number of students who completed the minimum completeness criteria that has improved from 2 students to 15 students the reduction of the number of students who did not complete the minimum completeness criteria from 28 students to 15 students the improvement of students rsquo average score from 56 to 71 the improvement of students rsquo maximum score from 75 to 100 and also the improvement of students rsquo minimum score from 50 to 63. However the result earned after the scores were computed by using SPSS shows that this strategy is not effective.
