Abstract

Google Classroom is an online learning platform that is suitable for distance learning. Students can learn various kinds of English materials through Google Classroom including procedure texts. This study is aimed to investigate the EFL students attitude towards Google Classroom as a platform for learning procedure texts in English. This research used a quantitative research design and involved 88 ninth graders of SMP Negeri 23 Malang as the research respondents. The instrument used to collect data was an adapted questionnaire containing 25 close-ended items. The questionnaire consisted of six aspects i.e. ease of access usefulness instruction delivery interaction and communication procedure text learning and students satisfaction in using Google Classroom. Based on the findings and discussion it can be said that the students have positive attitudes towards Google Classroom. The highest percentage of positive attitudes was 83 3% in the aspect of procedure text learning whereas the lowest was 69 3% in the ease of access of Google Classroom. The researcher therefore recommends Google Classroom to be used as a learning platform for learning English for secondary schools in Indonesia.
