Lying or telling deception is undeniable in human s everyday social interactions. It requires creating stories about experiences or attitudes that have never existed. This study investigated the linguistic deception cues of the liars in two selected YouTube videos from Jubilee Channel Odd Man Out series entitled 6 Vegans vs 1 Secret Meat Eater and 5 Gamers vs 1 Fake Gamer. Using Hancock s hypothesis the writers compared linguistic deception cues between the liar that win and lose the game. The data reveals that both liars have similarities in using self-references negative emotion words and exclusive words and negation terms. Both liars have differences in deception cues in terms of words quantity questions asked causation phrases and sense terms. It can be said that the odds of winning in Odd Man Out are greatly affected not only by the liars deception cues but also by another factor such as the content of the false facts.
