Kata kunci pendekatan multi representasi kemampuan berpikir kritis usaha energi Materi usaha dan energi memiliki karakteristik materi yang kompleks sehingga memungkinkan adanya miskonsepsi. Materi ini juga memiliki karakteristik materi yang abstrak sehingga sulit apabila dipelajari dengan satu representasi. Oleh karena itu diperlukan pembelajaran yang merepresentasikan konsep dengan berbagai cara yaitu pembelajaran multi representasi. Pendekatan multi representasi membantu peserta didik memahami konsep dan menyelesaikan masalah. Pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan memecahkan masalah berkaitan dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis. Kemampuan berpikir kritis dapat dijadikan sebagai alat untuk mengkonstruk pengetahuan sehingga diperoleh penguasaan konsep yang baik dan mampu menyelesaikan permasalahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran multi representasi terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian quasy experiment. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan yaitu post-test only control group design. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas X MIA MAN 3 Malang. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan purposive sampling diperoleh kelas X MIA 5 yang berjumlah 29 siswi sebagai kelas kontrol dan X MIA 6 yang berjumlah 30 siswi sebagai kelas eksperimen. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu silabus RPP dan LKPD serta soal uraian kemampuan berpikir kritis berjumlah 10 soal. Analisis data dilakukan dengan uji t-2 tailed uji prasyarat yang dilakukan yaitu uji normalitas dan uji homogenitas. Hasil analisis data dengan uji-t diperoleh nilai thitung 2 989 ttabel 2. Ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari pada kelas kontrol. Data posttest menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata kelas eksperimen sebesar 63 33 lebih tinggi dibandingkan rata-rata kelas kontrol sebesar 53 28. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pendekatan multi representasi terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Pembelajaran multi representasi memudahkan peserta didik untuk melatih kemampuan berpikirnya dalam menyajikan konsep atau fenomena dengan berbagai cara baik berupa gambar perhitungan matematis atau kesimpulan (verbal). Berdasarkan temuan penelitian perlu adanya panduan eksplisit yang mengarahkan peserta didik membuat representasi agar peserta didik terbiasa khususnya membuat representasi gambar dan perlu dilakukan penelitian untuk mengetahui hubungan kualitas representasi dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis. It also has abstrat material characteristics so it is difficult to learn with one representation. Therefore learning process is required that the learning should represent the concept in various ways namely multiple representation approach. Multiple representations approach helps students to understand the concepts and solve the problem. Understanding concept and problem solving skill are related to critical thinking skills. Critical thinking skills can be used as a tool to construct knowledge so that acquired good concept mastery and the ability to solve the problem. The purpose of this study is to know the effect of multiple representations approach on critical thinking skills. This research was a quantitative type of researh quasy experiment. The study design used was a post-test only control group design. The subjects of the study were students of class X MIA MAN 3 Malang. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The sample used was a class X MIA 5 consist 29 students as the control class and X MIA 6 consist 30 students as experimental class. The instrument used were syllabus RPP and LKPD and test of critical thinking skills consist 10 problems. The data analysis was conducted to test the hypothesis using t-test but previously done prerequisite test including normality and homogenity test. The result was data analysis with t-test obtained by tcount 2 989 ttable 2. This result indicated that critical thinking skills of experiment class was higher than control class. The average value posttest of critical thinking skills experimental class of 63 33 was higher than a control class of 53 28. This showed that there was the influence of multiple representations approach to student s critical thinking skills. Multiple representations approach allows students to practice their thinking skills in presenting concepts or phenomena in various ways whether in the forms of images mathematical calulations or conclusions (verbal). Based on the research findings it is recommended that explicit guiding is needed to lead students making representation in order they are used to make image representations and in the same study to knowing the relation between quality of representation and critical thinking skills.
