Dasar dari penelitian pengembangan ini adalah tuntutan Kurikukum 2013 yaitu pembelajaran yang terfokus pada siswa dan siswa dapat mengembangkan atau menemukan pengetahuannya sendiri melalui peristiwa nyata. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengembangkan dan mengetahui kelayakan bahan ajar berbasis PBL pada pokok bahasan hukum Newton tentang gerak untuk siswa SMA/MA. Bahan ajar berbasis PBL berupa buku cetak siswa ini membantu dalam belajar aktif diawali dengan orientasi masalah dan dikembangkan sesuai sintak PBL (Problem Based Learning). Penelitian menggunakan model 4-D (Thiagarajan Sivasailman 1974) untuk menyesuaikan kebutuhan pelaksanaan dikembangkan sampai tahap ke tiga atau 3-D yaitu define (perencanaan) design (perancangan) dan development (pengembangan). Uji validasi produk dilakukan oleh tiga validasi ahli yang terdiri dari satu dosen Fisika dan dua guru SMA mata pelajaran Fisika kemudian uji keterbacaan dilakukan kepada lima belas siswa XI MIPA 5 SMAN 2 Malang. Angket validasi ahli berupa skala Likert yang terdiri dari aspek konstruk (penyajian dan bahasa) konten (isi) dan kesesuaian model (sesuai sintak PBL) sedangkan untuk angket keterbacaan hanya tersedia pilihan ya dan tidak . Hasil dari validasi ahli menunjukkan bahan ajar valid dalam segi konten konstruk dan sesesuaian model PBL dengan nilai rata-rata 3 89. Penyempurnaan dilakukan pada bahan ajar sesuai dengan kesalahan komentar dan saran dari para ahli. Bahan ajar juga memiliki aspek keterbacaan yang tinggi dari siswa dengan persentase 98 9% siswa memilih ya . Kelebihan bahan ajar ini berbasis PBL sesuai K13 orientasi masalah dilengkapi video tersedia LKPD contoh soal latihan soal uji kompetensi beserta kunci sajian guru terlampir silabus RPP intrumen penilaian (kognnitif sikap/diskusi ketrampilan). Kekurangan bahan ajar ini materi terbatas pada KD 3.7 dan 4.7 dan belum diketahui keefektivitasnya karena belum diujikan penggunaannya secara 9 JS (keseluruhan materi) di beberapa kelas. The basis of this development study is the demand Curriculum 2013 that is focused on student learning and students can develop or find his own knowledge through real events. The purpose of this research is to develop and assess the feasibility of PBL-based teaching material on the subject of Newton s laws of motion for senior high school students. PBL-based teaching materials in the form of a printed book helps students in active learning beginning with orientation problems and developed according to the syntax of the PBL (Problem Based Learning). Research using model 4-D (Thiagarajan Sivasailman 1974) to match the needs the implementation of the developed to the stage three or 3-D which define (planning) design (design) and development (development). Product validation conducted by three expert validation which consists of one lecturer of Physics and two high school teachers of subjects Physics then legibility test done to fifteen students XI MIPA 5 SMAN 2 Malang. Questionnaire expert validation in the form of Likert scale consisting of aspects of the construct (presentation and language) content (content) and the suitability of the model (according to the syntax PBL) while the questionnaire legibility only available option yes and no . The results of the expert validation show a valid teaching material in terms of content construct and compatibility PBL models with an average value of 3.89. Improvements made in accordance with the teaching material errors comments and suggestions from the experts. Teaching materials also have a high legibility aspects of students with a percentage of 98.9% of students choose yes . Excess PBL-based teaching materials as K13 orientation problems include video available LKPD sample questions exercises along with key competency testing teacher dish attached syllabi lesson plans assessment instruments (cognitive attitudes / discussions skills). This teaching material shortages limited to KD 3.7 and 4.7 and the effectiveness still not oriented well because it is not examined yet for use in 9 JS (total material) in some classes.
