ABSTRAK Nur Asiyah Evi. 2017. Penerapan Metode Penemuan Terbimbing untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Konsep Lingkaran Siswa Kelas VIII SMPN 1 Dau. Skripsi Jurusan Matematika Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Negeri Malang. Pembimbing Dr. Susiswo M.Si Kata kunci pembelajaran matematika penemuan terbimbing pemahaman konsep lingkaran Pembelajaran matematika di SMPN 1 Dau masih menggunakan metode konvensional. Pembelajaran belum terpusat pada siswa. Guru juga belum pernah menggunakan variasi metode pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil observasi didapatkan bahwa hasil belajar matematika siswa masih rendah. Hasil belajar rendah tersebut disebabkan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang rendah pula. Pemahaman konsep matematika tersebut ditunjukkan dengan membuat hubungan antara situasi permasalahan informasi yang relevan konsep matematika yang berkaitan dan alasan yang logis yang diukur melalui tes pemahaman. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep lingkaran siswa dalam pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode penemuan terbimbing pada siswa kelas VIIIB SMPN 1 Dau. Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIIB SMPN 1 Dau sebanyak 23 siswa. Data pada penelitian ini diperoleh melalui observasi catatan lapangan dan tes uraian (pemahaman). Hasil penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan metode penemuan terbimbing yang dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep lingkaran siswa kelas VIIIB SMPN 1 Dau (1) Guru menyajikan pertanyaan atau masalah yang berkaitan dengan materi masalah yang akan diberikan kepada siswa dengan data secukupnya dan perumusannya harus jelas sehingga dapat mengarahkan siswa pada konsep yang akan ditemukannya (2) Siswa membuat hipotesis serta guru membenarkan hipotesis yang dibuat oleh siswa (3) Siswa menguji hipotesis yang telah dibuatnya (4) Siswa menyimpulkan atau menemukan suatu konsep matematika (5) Guru memberikan latihan soal yang berkaitan dengan materi. Peningkatan pemahaman konsep lingkaran yaitu 73 11% pada siklus I menjadi 82 01% pada siklus II sebesar 82 60% siswa mendapat nilai 8805 75 serta aktivitas siswa dan guru berkategori baik. Learning is not centralized on students. The teacher never use many variation of learning method. Based of observation result get that math student learning outcomes are still low. The low learning outcomes resulting understanding of math concepts students are also lower. Understanding of mathematical concepts is shown by making the relationship between the state of the problem relevant information concepts related mathematical and logical reasons as measured by test comprehension. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) to improve understanding of the circle concepts student use guided discovery method in class VIIIB SMPN 1 Dau. Subjects in this study were students of class VIIIB SMPN 1 Dau as many as 23 students. Data of the research were obtained through observation field notes and test (comprehension). The result of the research is mathematics learning with use guided discovery method can improve understanding of the circle concepts students in VIIIth Grade of SMPN 1 Dau (1) The teacher presents questions or a problem related to the material the problem that will be given to students with the data tand its formulation should be clear that directs the students on the concepts that will be found (2) Students make hypothesis and the teacher justifies the hypothesis made by students (3) The students examine hypothesis that has been (4) The students conclude or find a mathematics (5) The teacher gives exercises related to the material.
