Thesis The Mathematics Education Program Study of Mathematics and Science Faculty of Malang State University. Advisors (I) Dra. Ety Tejo Dwi Cahyowati M.Pd (II)Aning Wida Yanti S.Si M.Pd. Key words Learning Cycle learning result As an educator teacher has big enough responsibility toward teaching and learning process and also the students understanding. Therefore the teacher has to motivate their students to study actively. Related to these reasons the teacher has to choose the best teaching and learning method in order to reach the aim at the teaching and learning process. One of the best teaching and learning methods is Learning Cycle method. This study is aimed to describe the use of Learning Cycle model to increase mathematics learning result about geometric space shape. It can improve the students mathematics score especially in geometrical space shape. The discussed geometric space shape in this study are the surface area volume of cube and cuboid. The Learning Cycle method is implemented in the five phase they are engagement exploration explanation elaboration or extention and evaluation. The research design was used in Classroom Action Research with qualitative approach. It was divided into cycles I and cycles II. The result level can be seen by observing the increase of score from cycle I to cycle II. The instrument which used to measure result study on the last cycle. The research result shows that Learning Cycle model can increase learning result. This fact is supported by the result of test given as the end of every classroom action. From the students average score of test from the cycle I to cycle II increase until 6 09 point. In the first cycle the students average score of test about 71 72 and the students average score of test in the second cycle was about 77 81. With this learning the student will be more challenging to understand about that lesson which is given and do the exercise. The students were also confident when they delivered their answer and opinion in discussion. It was caused the students felt happy and enjoy during the teaching and learning process. Moreover there were also visual aids and group discussions made the activities inside were more attractive and fun than before.
