This research aimed at improving students' writing skills in an online class for the eighth-grade students of SMPN 11 Malang through corrective feedback strategy. It is expected that the corrective feedback strategy in an online class can be used to improve the students' writing skill in recount text in SMPN 11 Malang. This research was an action research study that has been done in one cycle. In doing the research the researcher involved 31 students of Class VIII H as the respondents of the research. The data was collected by observation checklist questionnaire and writing test. The result of this research indicated that corrective feedback strategy in online class can improve students' writing skills in one cycle. Researcher also found that the corrective feedback strategy was an appropriate technique in online class for 8th graders of SMPN 11 Malang. Using corrective feedback strategy in an online class not only improves students writing skills but it also teaches them how to apply a sense of responsibility to submit on time and to always be more careful when writing a text. The ability of students rsquo writing skill in recount text improved in one cycle from the average score of the pre-test 55 to 80 in the post-test. The students writing on generic structure and language features of recount text improved the most as a result of this study.
