Abstract

Abstract This is a study about the improvement of student s ability in literary appreciation especially short-story by using Integrative approach at 11th Class of Language Program Student in SMAN 1 Pagak. It s objective was solving some problems of short story appreciation learning at 11th Class of Language Program Student. Generally this study used integrative approach to improve student s ability in reading-writing short-story according to their competences in curriculum. Design of this research was classroom action research which is divided into two circle process. Each circle process contained three times of learning period. Findings show that integrative approach increased student s ability in reading and analyzing prose structure and also their ability in short- story creative writing.
