The study also reveals that the use of those terms of address highly relies upon some factors they are age gender social status educational background ethnicity and situation. According to the study it can be noticed that the idea of kinship-oriented culture is deeply rooted in the heart of the Indonesian. It can be clearly seen from the use of kinship terms and names which exceeds the other categories. Therefore it can be concluded that a collectivistic culture embraced by the Indonesian is also reflected in the employment of the terms of address. The results of the study bring some useful suggestions for students and lecturers of English linguistics and also future researchers. This research may give a contribution to the comprehension of the cross-cultural understanding study between English and Indonesian which is reflected in their address terms. Thus the researcher suggests that such students and lecturers should be encouraged to take this phenomenon into account as one of their focus of cross-cultural understanding study. For the future researchers the researcher hopes that there will be studies which focus on the Indonesian address terms in other fields.
