Abstract

he purpose of this research to know what techniques does the teacher use to introduce new vocabulary in Taman Kanak-Kanak (TK) Negeri Pembina Malang. This study employed a descriptive design. The source of the data was the English teacher and the subjects were the students of B class at TK Negeri Pembina Malang. The instruments used to collect the data were the researcher observation in form of checklist and field notes and interview. The data were collected for two months which consisted of three steps observing the teacher interviewing the teacher making field notes and also using Hp recorder for interview and using digital camera to take picture. The data taken from the observation and interview were analyzed and presented in the form of descriptive explanation. The findings reveal that the teacher applied various techniques of introducing new vocabulary. In teaching vocabulary the teacher used techniques singing songs using picture demonstration doing exercise or gymnastic listen-repeat repetition playing games and giving worksheet.
