Abstract

This study aimed at getting information in depth about the teaching and learningproceasts T K SyuhadaS awojajarK odia Malang e speciallya bout ( l) the teachingEnglis(h2 ) the qualificationo fthe teacher( 3) the syllabusu sed ( 4) the objectives( 5 ) the instructionalm aterial (6) the teachingt echniques ( 7) the tnne Englishis used as communication ( 8) the problems ( 9) the evaluation ( 10) the parentso p inions a nd( 11) the studentsa ttitude. This studyi s descriptiveq uantitativew ith the specificationo n cases tudy T he sublectosf this studyw ere the headmastert h e teacher t he studentsa nd the parents of TK SyuhadaS awojalar K odia Malang.T he instrumentsu sedi n this study ere an observatiofno rm an inlerviervg uide and a set of questionnaile-. fhe data collected fromo bservationa nd interview were analyzedb ased on the topics in the form of descriptronT.h e data liom questionnairer vere analyzedt o find out the percenlages andp resentedin the forrn of description. The result of this study showed that (l) the headrnaster had high rnotrr ltion to include English as an extra-curricular activity but she did not make enough preparatiotno conducti t (2) the educationabl ackgroundo f the Englisht eacherr vas g00d but her qualification rvas not so good (3) there was no Engllsh syllabus uscd r n teaching( 4 ) the objectiveo f teachingE nglish was introducingE nglish as earlv as possiblc( 5 ) the teacherd id not usea ny written instructionalm atenalsa nd thc topics of teaching were from the curriculurn of kindergaten (6) thc teaching techniques frequentlyu sedb y the teacher lvered rilling askinga nd ansrverd entonstratinag dialoquea nd singing ( 7) the time English was useda s conrmunicationw ere rrhen the teacher greeted the students and asked the students to do something (8) the problernsfa ced by the teacherw ere classroomr xanirgemenat nd the instructional rncdia (9) evaluation was done during the teaching and learning proccss frorn the studentss peakinga nd rwiting (10) the parents opinions torvardt he teachingo f Englishw erei n generapl ossitivet h eys upportedth eir childrent o learnE nglish.a nd (l I ) the students attitude were in general good .
