Abstract

Keywords ability to understand use punctuation writing stories Elementary School Ability to understand and use language in every aspect of life is the goal of teaching Indonesian language. In the teaching of Indonesian there are four aspects that must be mastered. The fourth aspect of the skills in question are listening skills speaking skills reading skills and writing skills. Where the four skills are related to one another and can not be separated. Writing skills are very important skill in life is not only important in the life of education but also very important in people s lives. Writing skills are important because it is one of the language skills to be possessed by students. By writing students can reveal or express ideas or opinions thoughts and feelings they have. writing is a language skill that is used to communicate indirectly not face to face with others. Writing is also an activity that produksif and expressive. The issue that be reviewed of this study were (1) how the student s ability class IV group V district Karangploso the use of punctuation (2) how the student s ability class IV group V district. Karangploso in writing the story (3) Is there any connection with the ability to use punctuation story writing skills of students in the class IV group V district. Karangploso. The purpose of the study are generally divided into three there are (1) describes the ability to understand the use of punctuation. (2) Describe the ability to write stories. (3) describes the relationship between the ability to use punctuation with the ability to write stories. This research uses descriptive correlative design. Population is all students in class IV group V district. Karangploso. Malang Regency. This study did not use samples because the number of population under 100 then all members of the population involved in this study. Based on the analysis of data obtained information that a student s ability to use punctuation is generally considered sufficient (46%). Students skills in writing the story is quite (67%). There is a significant relationship between the ability to use yag punctuation with the ability to write stories. It is evident that the value of the correlation coefficient r 0.345. This means that the hypothesis that there is a use of punctuation skills with ability to write acceptable stories.
