Abstract

Keywords Methods Problam Solving PKN Elementary School. PKN learning in class V SDN Gambiran I Prigen Pasuruan District is less enthused by the students. Learning activities focused on the delivery of material by the teachers so that students attention focused on the teachers. This condition resulted in student learning activities to be reduced which eventually resulted in a low interest student learning to understand and master the learning material and learning outcomes are unsatisfactory. Therefore learning outcomes of students in learning in class V PKN SDN Gambiran I Prigen Pasuruan District need improvement. The purpose of this study are (1) describe the implementation of the application of problem solving method in class V student learning PKN Gambiran I SDN and (2) describe the improvement of student learning outcomes in the implementation of the learning method of problem solving in social studies class I Gambiran SDN V This study design was used in action research (CAR) which consists of two cycles. Each cycle includes the step of planning action observation and reflection.Subject and source of research data is a class V student and teacher I Gambiran SDN Prigen Pasuruan District. The instrument used in this study is the observation guides interview guides and test. Results showed (1) good teachers are able to apply learning with problem solving on the learning method in class V PKN SDN Gambiran First District Prigen Pasuruan with these steps formulating the problem analyzing problems formulating hypotheses collecting data testing hypotheses formulate recommendations and problem solving and (2) problem solving methods to enhance motivation and learning outcomes PKN V graders SDN Gambiran First District Prigen Pasuruan through cyclical action is fair with their level of ability of 75.48%. Based on the results it can be put forward several suggestions among others (1) teachers can apply and of developing teaching methods on learning problem solving competence or PKN into other themes which suit the situation and environmental conditions respective schools (2) for school principals need to increase supervision and guidance to teachers with innovative teaching related to learning and other learning PKN thus expected to improve the quality of learning and students into a better direction and (3 ) for supervisors kindergarten / elementary school a need to increase teacher training through education and training (Training) associated with the competence and professionalism of teachers. With this effort is expected to improve teacher performance keinerja and better than ever.
